Revaluator 1.7.7.3 released, adding Custom Layers

Revaluator LLC today released Revaluator 1.7.7.3, a maintenance and feature update for the Revaluator property assessment platform. The release is available to all licensed counties and is recommended for every installation.

Custom Layers

The headline addition in this release is Custom Layers, which lets a county bring its own map data into the parcel workspace alongside the standard parcel and basemap layers.

Counties maintain far more spatial data than parcel boundaries alone — zoning districts, flood zones, neighbourhood and market areas, municipal boundaries, school districts, and appraisal territories. Custom Layers makes that data available to the appraiser in the field, rendered on the same map they are already working from, rather than requiring a separate GIS application.

• Control draw order, visibility and styling per layer
• Layers travel with the county configuration, so every user sees the same data
• Available in the field, including in offline mode

Security updates

This release includes a round of security hardening across the platform. Counties handle property records, owner information and staff credentials, and Revaluator treats that as a standing obligation rather than a one-off exercise.

Because Revaluator is deployed per county, we recommend counties apply this update as part of their normal maintenance window. Existing data, configuration and county models are unaffected by the upgrade.

GIS updates

Mapping has been improved throughout the parcel workspace, with work focused on rendering behaviour and layer handling in large datasets — the conditions field crews actually work in during a countywide reappraisal.

• Better handling of large parcel sets during navigation and selection

GPS video updates

The GPS video system, which pairs vehicle-mounted street-level footage with recorded telemetry, has received updates to playback and capture handling.

• Improved playback and frame-stepping behaviour
• More reliable still-image capture from footage
• Refinements to clip navigation and repository video management
